Job summary

DLR Group in Overland Park, KS is seeking a Telecommunications Designer to design network cabling infrastructure from schematic design through construction administration across varied building types.

You will collaborate with architects and engineers, prepare detailed telecom plans, and ensure integration with other disciplines while traveling as needed and contributing to the firm's sustainable design goals.

Qualifications

• RCDD certification is required.
• Minimum 5 years in telecom cabling infrastructure design.
• Experience with Building Construction documents.
• Proficient with BIM (Revit) and AutoCAD workflows.
• MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) proficiency.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplined environment and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel for meetings and site visits.
• Familiarity with PDF mark-up tools like Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Develop telecommunications cabling infrastructure designs from concept through construction.
• Prepare telecom plans and specifications.
• Create detailed telecom system reports and narratives.
• Coordinate telecom requirements with architecture, structure, mechanical, electrical and other disciplines.
