Job summary

DLR Group is seeking a Telecommunications Designer to lead the design of telecommunications cabling infrastructure across multiple building types from schematic to construction administration. You will work with in-house architects and engineers, prepare telecom plans and specifications, coordinate with other disciplines, and travel for meetings as needed.

5+ years in telecom cabling and BIM tools are required.

Qualifications

• RCDD certification through BICSI.
• 5+ years in the evaluation/design of telecom cabling infrastructure systems.
• Experience with Building Construction documents.
• Experience with BIM (Revit) and AutoCAD workflows.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplined environment and meet deadlines.
• Ability to design telecom plans with in-house architects/engineers.
• Willingness to travel for meetings, site visits, and interviews.
• Proficiency with PDF mark-up tools (Bluebeam).

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing project objectives, goals, and documentation policies.
• Meet with client IT staff to determine project requirements and goals.
• Develop telecommunications cabling infrastructure designs from concept through construction.
• Prepare telecom cabling infrastructure plans and specifications.
• Prepare detailed telecom systems reports and narratives; coordinate design with other disciplines.
