Job summary

DLR Group is seeking a Telecommunications Designer to design and document telecommunications cabling infrastructure from schematic through construction administration for a variety of building types.

Responsibilities include coordinating with architecture, structure, mechanical and electrical teams, and preparing detailed telecommunication plans and reports, with a focus on collaborative, integrated design. Travel for meetings and site visits may be required.

Qualifications

• RCDD certification required with 5+ years in evaluating/designing telecommunications cabling infrastructure systems.
• Experience with Building Construction documents and BIM workflows (Revit, AutoCAD).
• Proficiency with Bluebeam PDF markup and Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing project objectives, goals, and documentation policies.
• Meet with client IT staff to determine project requirements and goals.
• Develop telecommunications cabling infrastructure designs from concept through construction.
• Prepare telecom cabling infrastructure plans and specifications.
• Prepare detailed telecom systems reports and narratives.
• Coordinate telecom design requirements with architecture, structure, MEP and other disciplines.
