Job summary

DLR Group is seeking a Telecommunications Designer in Los Angeles or other listed cities to design telecom cabling infrastructure from schematic through construction administration. You’ll collaborate with architects, engineers, and IT staff to translate requirements into detailed plans and specifications for diverse project types.

The role emphasizes cross-disciplinary coordination, BIM workflows, and travel for site meetings, with a competitive pay range reflective of location and experience.

Qualifications

• Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in evaluating/designing telecommunications cabling infrastructure.
• Experience with Building Construction documents and BIM workflows (Revit/AutoCAD).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment and meet project deadlines.
• Willingness to travel for meetings, site visits, and interviews.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing project objectives, goals, and documentation policies.
• Meet with client IT staff to determine project requirements and goals.
• Develop telecommunications cabling infrastructure designs from concept through construction completion.
• Prepare telecom cabling infrastructure plans and specifications.
• Prepare detailed telecom systems reports and narratives.
• Coordinate telecom design requirements with architecture, structure, mechanical, electrical, and other disciplines.
