Job summary

DLR Group is seeking a Telecommunications Designer to create telecommunication network cabling infrastructure plans from schematic through construction administration. You will participate in the design process of technology systems and prepare detailed telecom plans and specifications.

The role requires collaboration with architects, engineers, and staff, plus travel for meetings and site visits. Qualified candidates have 5+ years in telecom design and BIM experience.

Qualifications

• Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification required.
• Minimum 5 years in the evaluation/design of telecommunications cabling infrastructure systems.
• Experience with Building Construction documents.
• Experience with BIM workflows (Revit) and AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplined environment.
• Ability to meet deadlines on multiple projects.
• Ability to design telecom plans in collaboration with architects/engineers.
• Willingness to travel for meetings, site visits, and interviews.
• Proficiency with PDF mark-up tools (Bluebeam).

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing project objectives and documentation policies.
• Meet with clients IT staff to determine requirements and goals.
• Develop telecom cabling designs from concept through construction.
• Prepare telecom cabling infrastructure plans and specifications.
• Prepare detailed telecom system reports and narratives.
• Coordinate telecom design with architecture, structures, and disciplines.
