Job summary

Louisiana State Police is seeking an IT Technical Support Analyst to join the Mobile Communications Services team. The role focuses on building and supporting faster telecommunications and data systems for statewide voice and data networks.

You will perform maintenance, installations, and diagnostics for radio and data equipment, maintain dispatch systems, and configure network devices. A progression path exists from IT Analyst 1 to 3, with a 7:30–4:00 schedule and CDL premium pay.

Qualifications

• Three years of IT experience.
• Six years of total full-time work experience with at least one year in IT.
• An associate's degree in information technology plus one year of IT experience.
• A bachelor’s degree plus one year of IT experience.
• A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in information technology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or business analytics.
• Experience substitution: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year toward the six years of full-time work experience. Max substitution: 120 semester hours (four years).
• Certification in an approved area may be substituted for education/experience at hire or promotion, from a Certificate of Eligibles.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance on multiple radio tower sites and related systems (generator, HVAC, alarms, antennas).
• Install, optimize, and modify various communication system components and statewide network.
• Diagnose and repair vehicular and portable radio/mobile data equipment.
• Support critical operations and emergency equipment deployments.
• Possess knowledge to modify and install software/templates of portable radios, mobile radios, and mobile data terminals.
• Maintain dispatch center systems including voice recorders and radio consoles.
• Configure routers, switches, WAN bridges, wireless devices, and other network components in local and remote terminals and servers.
