Job summary

Unofficial M.C. Dean in Charleston, SC is seeking a Telecom Foreman to oversee installation of telecom cabling and equipment per plans and standards. This full-time role requires hands-on experience with hand and power tools, knowledge of telecom systems, and ability to lead a crew on multiple sites.

The position requires U.S. citizenship for access to classified information, ability to obtain a Secret clearance, and successful completion of drug screening and background checks.

Qualifications

• 8+ years prior experience in commercial communications industry.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• BICSI Technician certification preferred.
• This position is subject to an additional customer drug screening and background check.
• Clearance / Citizenship: US citizenship for access to classified information (ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance).
• Possesses a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• Successfully pass a background check and drug test.
• Have reliable transportation to and from the jobsite.
• Consistently report to work on time and maintain a safe work environment.
• Provide basic tools from provided tool list prior to 1st day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge and safe use of hand tools and various power tools.
• Wearing of required PPE and following safety policies and procedures.
• Following safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Installation of various types of low voltage cable.
• Manage small to large projects with crews of 5+ people across locations.
• Coordinate with senior management to resolve work procedures and issues.
• Schedule project steps to meet deadlines within budget.
• Interpret and explain plans/specifications to field workers.
• Maintain QA checks to ensure cable install meets requirements.
