Job summary

ViaPath is seeking a Telecommunication Technician 3 to join the Field Services team. The role is based at the client site in Hurricane, UT with travel to additional sites.

You’ll perform remedial repairs, preventive maintenance, and system reliability work, including kiosks, cable runs, and hardware replacements. Strong problem solving and customer interaction are essential, with occasional overtime and travel requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–4 years of related experience.
• Proficient in Windows OS, MS Office.
• Proficient with Telephony and Networking, inclusive of copper, CAT5/6, and fiber optic wiring.
• Knowledge of wiring color code and data cabling fabrication.
• Must be able to frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and travel to multiple customer sites daily with potential overnight trips.
• Work environment may involve access to government facilities with strict security.
• Ability and willingness to work scheduled or unscheduled overtime.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an ambassador for ViaPath with customers, demonstrating service excellence.
• Be responsible for overall service of ViaPath products at assigned customer sites.
• Prioritize and plan assigned service calls.
• Communicate updates on service calls.
• Escalate problems when appropriate.
• Interact professionally with customers to foster relationships.
• Act as point of contact for facility staff regarding customer accounts.
• Replace telephony hardware and network components; perform basic maintenance.
• Pull cable, mount network devices, and install telephony hardware.
• Administer kiosk service and collections, including deposits at financial institutions.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and assist Technical Support with corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot wiring on 66-Blocks or Cutoff Switches; repair as needed.
• Handle special projects as assigned by Field Service Manager.
• Overtime and callouts expected; energize an effective team environment.
• Troubleshoot video visitation issues with guidance from Tech Support.
• Troubleshoot tablet functionality and Wi‑Fi connectivity.
• Return damaged equipment per RMA process.
