Job summary

Bartech Staffing is seeking a Telecom Technician responsible for project installation, testing, and commissioning of telecommunications infrastructure across multiple service locations. The role involves hands-on fieldwork, collaboration with Engineering and Project Managers, and direct communication with NOC and customers to prevent outages.

Responsibilities include reading installation instructions, reporting project status, and performing tests with OTDR, DS1/DS3, and RF test equipment.

Qualifications

• Basic Networking concepts: IPv4, data link, routing.
• Experience with TBERT and ethernet testing.
• Proficient with specialized telecom test equipment.
• RF understanding: attenuation, antennas, microwave patterns.
• Experience with DC power systems: 24VDC, -48VDC, POE.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in various facilities.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand installation instructions and assess impact.
• Coordinate with Engineering/PM on project details.
• Communicate with NOC and customers before work that may cause outages.
• Document project status and report issues to Engineering.
• Perform testing and commissioning using specialized test equipment.
