Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Participates in design, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and performance analysis of telecommunication networks and systems, following policies, practices, procedures, standards, and regulations.
2. Prepares cost estimates for engineering assignments using established guidelines.
3. Documents project work and performs network assignments.
4. Analyzes network performance, troubleshoots issues, and provides solutions.
5. Follows standard workflow for engineering projects, applying economic analysis techniques and adhering to budgeting and approval processes.
6. Demonstrates knowledge of networks, components, and facilities for efficient project responses.
7. Understands organizational structure and specific roles within the unit.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

For SG 07 Telecom Consultant (Starting Pay: $85,081 - $106,353):

Education: Bachelor's in engineering, technology, computer science, telecommunications, or related; or Associate's with 2 years relevant experience; or HS diploma/GED with 4 years relevant experience.

Experience: 2 years relevant work experience.

Licenses: Valid Driver's License required.

For SG 08 Telecom Consultant Sr (Starting Pay: $96,110 - $124,940):

Education: Bachelor's in engineering, technology, computer science, telecommunications, or related; or Associate's with 2 years relevant experience; or HS diploma/GED with 4 years relevant experience.

Experience: 5 years relevant work experience.

Licenses: Valid Driver's License required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong understanding of IP, DWDM, and SONET transport networks.
• Knowledge of static and dynamic IP networks, QoS policies, and traffic engineering.
• Design experience with EVPL, EPL, Static, Dynamic, OTN on various networks.
• Intermediate knowledge of communications technologies and inter-networking principles.
• Analytical techniques for moderate complexity assignments.
• Understanding of telecom equipment, systems, and business processes.
• Ability to analyze and recommend process improvements.
• Effective collaboration and communication skills.
• Proactive in seeking opportunities and presenting ideas.

Grade: SP20-007

Range: $85,081 - $106,352.50 USD
