Essential Job Functions:

• Plans, evaluates, designs, installs, configures, troubleshoots, and analyzes performance of telecommunication networks and systems; resolves technical issues.
• Ensures all work activities comply with company policies, practices, procedures, standards, and external regulations.
• Coordinates and monitors work activities using approved tools; prepares cost estimates and documents project work.
• Leads and coordinates work within teams; may serve as project manager for assigned tasks.
• Uses economic analysis techniques in project development; participates in developing business and technical plans with measurable goals.
• Demonstrates thorough knowledge of AEP networks and participates in developing relevant standards.
• Understands organizational structure and specific roles within the unit.

Minimum Requirements:

SG 08 Telecom Consultant Sr (Starting Pay: $96,110-124,940):

• Education: Bachelor's in engineering, technology, computer science, telecommunications, or related; or associate's with 2 years relevant experience; or HS diploma/GED with 4 years relevant experience.
• Experience: 5 years relevant work experience.
• License: Valid Driver's License.

SG 09 Telecom Consultant Sr (Starting Pay: $112,869-146,730):

• Education: Bachelor's in engineering, technology, computer science, telecommunications, or related; or associate's with 2 years relevant experience; or HS diploma/GED with 4 years relevant experience.
• Experience: 10 years relevant work experience.
• License: Valid Driver's License.

Other Requirements

• Strong understanding of IP, DWDM, and SONET networks.
• Knowledge of IP networks, QoS, and traffic engineering.
• Design experience with EVPL, EPL, OTN, and microwave networks.
• Certifications: Engineering in Training (EIT) or Cisco CCNA preferred.
