Job summary

IREN is seeking a Construction Manager - Telecommunication to lead field delivery of telecom infrastructure across advanced data center campuses. You will manage outside-plant and inside-plant fiber, cabling, racks, grounding, and carrier interconnections, coordinating with design, network, compute, commissioning and operations teams to ensure safe, high-quality installations.

This onsite role requires a Bachelor's degree and 7+ years in telecom/low-voltage construction, with experience leading

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree requirement as stated; equivalent field experience considered.
• Minimum of 7 years of telecommunications or low-voltage construction management experience.
• Ability to lead large, multi-building telecom scopes from design through turnover.
• Strong knowledge of outside-plant/inside-plant fiber, structured cabling, and related practices.
• Experience delivering telecom rooms, meet-me rooms, and carrier interconnections.
• Ability to review drawings, BIM models, specs, RFIs, and test plans.
• Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (TIA, BICSI, NEC/NFPA, OSHA).
• Proven track record of leading multiple contractors and coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and delivery of all telecommunications construction activities from preconstruction to turnover.
• Direct telecom contractors, manage safety, manpower, schedule, quality, and closeout commitments.
• Review design documents, shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and test plans for constructability.
• Manage underground/aboveground pathways, campus fiber routes, building entrances, and telecom rooms.
• Oversee installation, splicing, termination, patching, labeling, and protection of fiber and cabling.
• Coordinate procurement and delivery of long-lead materials with IT/network and operations teams.
• Enforce a telecom quality-control program covering pathway readiness, cleanliness, and grounding.
• Plan and validate fiber/copper testing (OTDR, optical loss, polarity, link certification).
• Maintain contractor look-ahead schedules, progress reports, and risk registers.
• Ensure safety, compliance, and proper turnover documentation to project leadership.
• Support commissioning and testing activities prior to handover.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent field experience will be considered.
