Job summary

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is seeking a capable OPS Government Analyst I to coordinate TEFAP and CSFP, guide agencies, and ensure program compliance. You’ll manage USDA Foods allocations, orders, and inventories, and train recipients on the electronic ordering system.

Strong knowledge of USDA regulations, data reporting, and ability to work with multiple stakeholders is required. Travel will be necessary to support affected agencies and training sessions.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or its equivalent required; seven years of professional or nonprofessional experience in systems analysis, management analysis, program planning, program research, program evaluation, engineering or administrative work; or
  • Bachelor’s degree and three years of professional experience in systems analysis, management analysis, program planning, program research, program evaluation, engineering or administrative work; or
  • Master’s degree and one year of required experience as listed above.
  • Educational note: foreign degrees require credential evaluation per Florida guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a program coordinator for TEFAP and CSFP, providing guidance to agencies and the public on program regulations and requirements.
  • Manages allocation, ordering, and distribution of USDA Foods using the USDA web-based ordering system; trains recipient agencies on the system.
  • Collaborates with USDA, monitors food shipments, reviews requests and inventory levels, and handles delivery problems and complaints.
  • Conducts surveys and compiles data for analyses and reports; provides technical assistance and information on program compliance and procedures.
  • Participates in on-site visits, prepares training for recipient agencies, and stays current with USDA regulations and applicable state statutes.
