Job summary

Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is seeking a Government Analyst I for the Division of Animal Industry in Tallahassee. The role focuses on emergency programs, ESF 17 coordination, and disaster preparedness activities.

You will develop plans, provide technical assistance, and coordinate with the Florida State Agricultural Response Team and other agencies to improve readiness and response across the state.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with seven years of professional experience in emergency management, systems analysis, management analysis, program planning, program research, program evaluation or administrative work.
• Or a bachelor’s degree with three years of professional experience in the same fields;
• Or a master’s degree substituting for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as division emergency management coordinator for animal disease and disaster preparedness and response activities.
• Represent the division at ESF 17 meetings, statewide coordination, and training.
• Develop procedures to improve ESF 17, SART, and division operations; perform program analysis and coordination.
• Maintain SART/ESF 17 resources, GIS tools, and training logs; assist in grants and purchasing.
• Prepare division emergency plans, reviews, and coordination with the Emergency Programs Manager.
