Job summary

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Animal Industry, is seeking a Government Analyst I to serve as the division’s emergency management coordinator for animal disease and disaster preparedness. You will represent ESF 17 at the State Emergency Operations Center and at state-wide meetings.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or its equivalent and seven (7) years of professional experience in emergency management, systems analysis, management analysis, program planning, program research, program evaluation or administrative work; or
  • A bachelor’s degree (4 years) from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of professional experience in emergency management, systems analysis, management analysis, program planning, program research, program evaluation or administrative work; or
  • A master’s degree (6 years) from an accredited college or university can substitute for one (1) year of the required experience as described above.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as division emergency management coordinator for animal disease and disaster preparedness and response activities, representing ESF 17 at SEOC and statewide meetings.
  • Provide support to the Emergency Programs Manager and lead coordinator of Florida SART on ESF 17 preparedness and response activities.
  • Develop, coordinate, evaluate, and track emergency-related grants, cooperative agreements, and purchase orders for preparedness and response.
  • Maintain and update division ESF 17 GIS mapping tool with IT support to map animal health information.
  • Produce program analyses, management consulting, and coordinate training, exercises, and publications for ESF 17 and division.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
