Job summary

TIAA is seeking an Associate General Counsel for Technology Products & Transactions to guide technology, data, and third-party relationships behind our products and initiatives. You will work with AI and emerging technology counsel and business teams to translate objectives into practical, well-structured agreements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in commercial law drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, with significant experience in technology transactions.
• Strong judgment on the legal and commercial issues that arise in technology contracting.
• Experience with AI, data, digital products or other emerging technologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Advise on the technology and data behind business initiatives, navigating tech, data rights, and third-party dependencies in digital products and services.
• Structure and negotiate strategic technology relationships, including SaaS, cloud services, software, data licensing, AI, and related arrangements.
• Translate technical realities to commercial outcomes, defining deal structures and contract terms addressing risk and operational needs.
• Collaborate with privacy, cybersecurity, AI, and other specialists to develop coordinated advice.
• Support technology and data aspects of acquisitions, investments, and other strategic transactions.
• Collaborate with legal, sourcing, enterprise vendor management, risk, and compliance teams on tech procurement and broader initiatives.
• Develop playbooks, templates, and contracting processes, leveraging AI and legal tech.
