Job Description

The CABINET Information & Technology Services (ITS) Departmentis seeking a contract resource for the role of Technology Support Specialist.The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical computerassistance to users of computer-based software applications, and/or hardware,providing Technical Assistance to problem determination and resolution forcomputer hardware equipment and/or software application. May become servicedesk expert in one of the following areas.
1) Hardware support for computer peripherals, and infrastructure equipment,and/or
2) Core Business Software Support, and/or 3) External Software.
ESSENTIAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:

• Computer technicalcertification in MOS, MTA, MCP, A+ or MCITP
• Identify trends inincidents
• Cross trains other servicetechs
• Submit solutions tosupervisor for knowledgebase articles
• Communicate with computersystem users to provide training and/or assistance for softwareapplication Programs.
• Give instructions to userson computer applications and the use of computer equipment.
• Provide assistance forusers experiencing problems with computer application.
• Install and uninstallcomputer equipment at statewide computer sites.
• Test computer equipment toassure serviceability and dependability.
• Perform basic diagnostictesting on malfunctioning equipment
• Utilize computer programsfor problem determination
• Keep records andstatistics on all problems and assistance calls utilizing onlineinformation management Software.
• Provide technicalinformation to system support personnel, vendor representatives and/orcomputer
• Operations staff toresolve problems relating to network or computer systems
• Assist in system recoveryduring computer failures.
• Maintain computer systemdatabase.
• Availability for on-callrotation during non-business hours.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Associate’s degree in Computer Science.
Education Substitute: High School Diploma with 2+ yrs. job relatedexperience.

OFFICE LOCATION:

Fayette County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office, Lexington, KY

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: (LICENSES, REGULATIONS, CERTIFICATES, ADVANCEDEDUCATION, ETC.)

• Must possess and maintaina valid Client Driver’s License
• Computer TechnicalCertification is a plus in the following MOS, MTA, MCP, A+ OR MCITP
