Job summary

IMEG is seeking a Technology Project Designer to join our Chicago, IL - Naperville Office. The role focuses on analysis, design, and oversight of low-voltage technology systems for mission critical and healthcare environments, with collaboration across education, institutional, and MEP markets.

You will mentor staff, support budgets and scheduling, and work in a full-time hybrid setting. Travel up to 50% is required, and the team emphasizes security, technology risk, and cross-disciplinary

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher in engineering or related STEM field; 3+ years in building design consulting
• Experience in IT structured cabling, AV, security design for buildings
• Associates degree or BIM/Engineering certificate; 7+ years experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for IT structured cabling, AV, security and other low-voltage systems
• Create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations per code and IMEG standards
• Interact with clients to gather requirements and communicate technical information clearly
• Support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling
• Provide in-process design reviews and ensure IMEG quality standards meet client needs
