Job summary

IMEG is hiring a Technology Project Designer in the Chicago, IL area to support analysis, design, and oversight of low-voltage technology systems for Mission Critical & Healthcare. You will lead design efforts on low to moderate complexity projects and collaborate with senior staff on larger work.

You’ll work within project budgets, mentor staff, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. Travel up to 50% is possible.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering or related field; 3–4 years building design experience.
• Or an Associate degree with BIM focus and 7–8 years in building design consulting or construction.

Responsibilities

• Lead design for IT structured cabling, AV, security, and other low-voltage systems.
• Create designs, specifications, and calculations per code requirements and IMEG standards.
• Interact with clients to capture needs, gather requirements, and maintain relationships.
• Work with project teams to support consulting project execution.
• Lead planning, budgeting, and scheduling; document design decisions and progress.
• Analyze problems and propose efficient engineering solutions with senior staff.
• Provide in-process design reviews and QA to meet IMEG quality standards.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in ICT engineering.
• Prioritize safety and identify risks in low-voltage systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Oversee bidding and construction administration phases.
