Job summary
GE Vernova Advanced Research in Niskayuna, NY, seeks a Technology Manager for the Mechanical Structures & Durability lab to lead a world-class team of researchers in inventing aerodynamic, thermal, and structural solutions for GE Vernova’s next-generation products. Qualifications
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related with minimum 6 years of relevant experience OR Master’s with minimum 10 years.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience leading technical programs or R&D in structural mechanics, durability, fatigue analysis, or related engineering discipline.
- Direct management experience leading teams of 3+ engineers or scientists and developing talent.
Responsibilities
- Define the Future: translate complex structural challenges into a multi-generational technology roadmap.
- Build a robust portfolio of research programs for structural mechanics and durability across GE Vernova businesses.
- Lead Innovation from concepts to field-deployed structural solutions.
- Shape the Vision with Chief Engineers and Business Leaders to align with Power, Wind, and Electrification needs.
- Mentor a team of elite researchers and foster a culture of rigor, safety, and bold experimentation.
