As the Technology Manager for the Mechanical Structures & Durability lab, you will lead a world class team of Researchers focused on inventing and developing aerodynamic, thermal and fluid dynamic solutions for the next generation of GE Vernova’s products and services. In order to achieve this, you will work with the leaders of the manufacturing, services, engineering and product teams across GE Vernova Power, Renewables, and Electrification businesses to develop structural mechanics and durability technology roadmaps aligned with the business’ product, manufacturing and lean roadmaps. You will also work with technology leaders at the GE Vernova Advanced Research and external partners such as government agencies to define strategy and programs and then act as an enabler for team execution. The Technology Manager will drive technical and organizational strategy, ensure team execution and operational excellence, and provide guidance and coaching to team members on technical and career direction.

• Define the Future: You will translate complex structural challenges into a multi-generational technology roadmap, bridging the gap between theoretical research and real-world industrial scale. Build a robust portfolio of Research programs to drive structural mechanics and durability of products across the GE Vernova businesses (Power, Wind, and Electrification).
• Lead Innovation: You’ll spearhead early-stage development, from "napkin sketch" concepts to field-deployed structural solutions.
• Shape the Vision: As a strategic partner to our Chief Engineers and Business Leaders, you will ensure our structural research strategy is perfectly aligned with the global needs of Power, Wind, and Electrification.
• Build the Next Generation: You will mentor a team of elite researchers, fostering a culture of scientific rigor, psychological safety, and bold experimentation.

Required Qualifications

• Education:PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline with a minimum of6 yearsof relevant experience — OR — Master's degree with a minimum of10 yearsof relevant experience.
• Technical Expertise:5+ years of hands-on experience leading technical programs or R&D efforts instructural mechanics, durability, fatigue analysis, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• People Leadership:Proven direct management experience leading teams of3 or moreengineers or scientists, with demonstrated ability to develop talent, navigate performance, and build high-performing organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated track record ofsuccessfully contributing to, writing and executing on competitive proposalswith U.S. government agencies such as DOE, ARPA‑E, DOD, DARPA, or equivalent federal sponsors.
• Ability to translate complex technical and business challenges into clear priorities, actionable plans, and measurable outcome
• Industrial application experiencein mechanical engineering with emphasis on structural mechanics and durability — with direct exposure to the challenges of scaling structural solutions from lab research into production environments
• Demonstrated success intransitioning R&D technology into commercial or industrial products, including full lifecycle ownership from concept through deployment
• Experience leading or collaborating withglobal or geographically distributed teamsacross multiple business functions and engineering disciplines in a matrixed environment
• Familiarity withadvanced structural analysis toolssuch as FEA (finite element analysis), probabilistic durability modeling, fatigue life prediction, or related computational methods
• Understanding ofcustomer needs and competitive industry trendsin power generation, wind energy, or electrification — with the ability to convert insights into technology strategy
• Track record ofbuilding and sustaining a culture of safetyand continuous improvement within a technical research or engineering organization
• Experience withLean methodologiesapplied in a research, product development, or early-stage technology environment
• Active presence in the professional community through conference participation, publications, or technical society leadership that advances GE Vernova's external reputation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to present complex structural mechanics concepts to executive and non-technical business audiences

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $131,700.00 and $219,300.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
