BHSI is seeking a motivated Technology Intern to join our San Ramon office for a 12-week summer internship. You will participate in software engineering tasks, develop and test solutions, and collaborate with experienced engineers to support the insurance tech lifecycle.

You will gain hands-on experience with real systems, data pipelines, and enterprise tools, while learning how technology enables underwriting and claims processes in an insurance context.

Qualifications

• College concentration in one of the STEM disciplines or prior IT experience.
• Proven coding, analytical and problem-solving skills in CS/Data Science/ML or related field.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Git, Python, SQL and Docker.
• Familiarity with a major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience with databases, data processing, and data pipelines.
• Knowledge of machine learning and geospatial data.

Responsabilités

• Participate as an active member of the software engineering team, contributing to project and operational work.
• Develop, test, troubleshoot, and document software solutions with guidance from experienced engineers.
• Take ownership of assigned development tasks and follow through to completion.
• Work with domain experts across the CAT E&A team to enhance use of data.
• Participate in the team's development processes, discussions, and meetings.
• Investigate technical problems and develop thoughtful solutions using available tools.
• Manage assigned work and priorities with a focus on quality and accuracy.
• Communicate progress, questions, challenges, and blockers with the team.
