BHSI is seeking a motivated Technology Intern to join our San Ramon office for a 12-week summer internship. You will participate in software engineering tasks, develop and test solutions, and collaborate with experienced engineers to support the insurance tech lifecycle.
You will gain hands-on experience with real systems, data pipelines, and enterprise tools, while learning how technology enables underwriting and claims processes in an insurance context.

As a Technology Intern, you will participate in and contribute to project and operational work under the guidance of experienced Technology professionals. If you have a passion for programming, project management, or analytics and data, we will identify projects to leverage these skills. In addition to learning about Technology processes and how they support the Insurance Life Cycle (pricing a quote through to a claim), you will also learn about the insurance industry, and experience first‑hand, the teamwork that it takes to deliver flexible, responsive solutions to our customers. We are seeking a motivated and curious individual to join our San Ramon office with the Technology team as a Summer Intern. This 12-week paid internship offers a deep dive into the world of Technology.
You will:
You will be part of a dynamic and supportive Technology team that values collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. Your work will directly contribute to delivering on our commitment to excellence.
College concentration in one of the STEM disciplines or prior experience and demonstrated passion in an Information Technology role
Proven coding, analytical and problem-solving skills as normally acquired through the pursuit of a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine learning, or a related field.
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
Experience with Git, Python, SQL and Docker
Familiarity with a major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Experience with databases, data processing, and data pipelines
Knowledge of machine learning and experience with geospatial data
All candidates must have permanent work authorization in the United States
Ability to manage multiple priorities and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
Strong focus, attention to detail and accuracy
Exposure to or experience with AI-assisted development tools and an interest in applying AI effectively within the software development lifecycle is a plus
