Job summary
Walker & Dunlop in Chicago, IL seeks a Vice President & Associate General Counsel of Technology and Data Privacy to lead the legal strategy for product, engineering, and cybersecurity, focusing on data governance, licensing, and AI implementation. You will partner with Product and Engineering to embed privacy by design, review data flows, and manage complex technology contracts while advising on U.S.
and international privacy issues.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- 5+ years of relevant legal experience advising on technology, privacy, data, and commercial matters.
- CIPM, CIPP/US, and/or CIPP/EU certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Serve as product counsel to Product and Engineering teams through the product lifecycle.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to embed privacy, data governance, security, and responsible AI into products and platforms.
- Review product functionality, data flows, and proposed uses of data and AI to identify legal risks and propose solutions.
- Lead negotiations for complex technology contracts, including SaaS, data and software licensing.
