Job summary

Ascension Via Christi St. Peter in Derby, KS seeks a skilled MRI Technologist to capture diagnostic MRI images and ensure high-quality studies. You will position patients, select technical parameters, and follow safety guidelines to protect patients and staff.

Responsibilities include verifying image quality, markers, and histories before PACS submission, and maintaining procedure room readiness. Strong ARRT MRI or ARMRIT credentials preferred; BLS required within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• MRI technologist with ARRT MRI or ARMRIT credentialing required or obtained within stated timeframe
• Associate degree/technical degree or 2+ years of relevant experience required
• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire or transfer
• Experience with radiography credentialing and MRI workflows preferred

Responsibilities

• Capture high-quality diagnostic MRI images with precise patient positioning and parameter selection
• Prioritize patient safety and educate patients per radiation safety guidelines
• Verify image quality, markers and histories before PACS submission for radiologist reads
• Maintain readiness of procedure rooms and monitor MRI equipment performance

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Capture high-quality diagnostic images by expertly positioning patients and selecting precise technical parameters to ensure accurate pathology detection.
• Advocate for patient safety by strictly following radiation protection guidelines and conducting thorough pre-screening and education to ease patient anxiety.
• Execute seamless data management by verifying image quality, markers, and histories before submission to PACS, ensuring the diagnostic team has everything they need for a clear read.
• Maintain a high-standard clinical environment by monitoring equipment performance and coordinating the readiness of procedure rooms to ensure uninterrupted patient care.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s): BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following: Radiologic Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed from the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed by the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 15 Months (1 1/4 year) of hire date or job transfer date. Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. In addition, associate will have to be a Radiologic Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date or obtained within 15 months of hire date or job transfer date.
• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed through the Primary Pathway MRI from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed from the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed by the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Education High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
