Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join the Diagnostic Radiology team at the Evansville facility. You will accurately position patients, set exposure factors, and capture high-quality radiologic images to aid physicians in diagnosis.

You will follow radiation safety guidelines, monitor patients during procedures, and ensure data integrity by timely PACS submissions. You will also safely prepare contrast media and maintain imaging rooms and equipment for ongoing operations.

Qualifications

• ARRT Radiography credential required or obtained within 6 months of hire date.
• BLS Provider certification required within 1 month of hire date.
• High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job experience.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality radiologic images by positioning patients and selecting accurate exposure factors.
• Advocate for patient safety by adhering to radiation protection guidelines and monitoring during procedures.
• Submit images and patient history to PACS promptly and accurately to ensure accessible records.
• Safely manage contrast media within state and federal scope of practice.
• Maintain imaging rooms and equipment to be ready for the next patient.

Your future role at a glance

• Location: Evansville, IN


• Facility: Ascension Medical Group Clinic


• Department: Diagnostic Radiology


• Schedule: 36 hours | Weekend Option | 7pm-7am Friday-Sunday

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Produce high-quality radiologic images by precisely positioning patients and selecting accurate exposure factors to give physicians the clearest possible diagnostic view.


• Advocate for patient safety by strictly adhering to radiation protection guidelines and monitoring individuals during procedures to eliminate unnecessary exposure and ensure comfort.


• Safeguard clinical data integrity through the prompt, accurate submission of images and patient history to PACS, ensuring the medical team has immediate access to flawless records.


• Manage and prepare contrast media safely within your state and federal scope of practice, expanding the diagnostic capabilities available to our patients.


• Maintain equipment and environment readiness by performing regular quality checks and ensuring imaging rooms are clean, safe, and fully operational for the next patient.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.


• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
