Job summary

Sunstate Equipment Co. is hiring a Technician II - Shop to perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on diesel and heavy equipment. The role requires a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a diesel mechanic, with preferred exposure to Tier 4 engines, DPF/SCR/EGR aftertreatment, and welding capabilities.

Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 7AM–5PM with overtime eligibility. Sunstate offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities within a safety-focused, people-first culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of diesel mechanic experience.
• Experience with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, diesel and gas engines.
• Experience with Tier 4 engines and DPF, SCR, EGR aftertreatment systems preferred.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairs.
• Must have the necessary tools to perform repairs.
• Inspect, service and test equipment to manufacturer specs.
• Intermediate understanding of schematics and computer diagnostic software.
• Diesel laptop and welding experience strongly preferred.

Position Requirements

• Intermediate experience with troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, diesel, and gas engines..
• Experience with Tier 4 engines and DPF, SCR, and EGR aftertreatment systems is preferred.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing equipment repairs.
• Must have the necessary tools you need to perform the scope of equipment repairs.
• Inspect, service, and test equipment, ensuring performance to manufacturer specifications.
• Intermediate understanding of schematics, computer diagnostic software, and welding methods.
• Diesel laptop and welding experience is strongly preferred.
• Safety oriented, maintaining industry and Sunstate safety standards performing equipment repairs.
