Job summary

Sunstate Equipment, Garner, NC, is seeking a Technician II - Shop to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel and gas equipment for our rental fleet. The role requires hands-on mechanical experience, a strong focus on safety, and the ability to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and emission systems.

Typical Schedule: Monday - Friday 7AM - 5PM (Overtime Eligible)

Pay Range: $28 - $34+ per hour; Dependent upon Experience + Quarterly Branch Performance Bonus

Position Requirements

Sunstate is a proud Second Chance employer that evaluates every candidate on a case-by-case basis.

• You must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic, with heavy construction equipment or rental equipment strongly preferred.
• Intermediate experience with troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, diesel, and gas engines..
• Experience with Tier 4 engines and DPF, SCR, and EGR aftertreatment systems is preferred.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing equipment repairs.
• Must have the necessary tools you need to perform the scope of equipment repairs.
• Inspect, service, and test equipment, ensuring performance to manufacturer specifications.
• Intermediate understanding of schematics, computer diagnostic software, and welding methods.
• Diesel laptop and welding experience is strongly preferred.
• Safety oriented, maintaining industry and Sunstate safety standards performing equipment repairs.
