Job summary

Sunstate Equipment Co. is seeking a Technician II - Shop in Jacksonville, FL to service diesel equipment, diagnose issues, and perform repairs. The role operates Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–5:00 PM with overtime eligibility, in a safety‑driven shop environment.

The position requires 2+ years in diesel mechanics, with preferred experience on heavy construction or rental equipment. Tools are provided for on‑the‑job repairs, and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience; heavy construction or rental equipment preferred.
• Troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, diesel, and gas engines.
• Experience with Tier 4 engines and DPF, SCR, and EGR aftertreatment systems preferred.
• Performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing equipment to manufacturer specs.
• Must have tools required to perform the scope of equipment repairs.
• Ability to read schematics and use computer diagnostic software.
• Diesel laptop and welding experience strongly preferred.
• Safety oriented and compliant with Sunstate safety standards.
• Willingness to learn and grow in the role.

Position Requirements

• You must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic, with heavy construction equipment or rental equipment strongly preferred.
• Intermediate experience with troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, diesel, and gas engines..
• Experience with Tier 4 engines and DPF, SCR, and EGR aftertreatment systems is preferred.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing equipment repairs.
• Must have the necessary tools you need to perform the scope of equipment repairs.
• Inspect, service, and test equipment, ensuring performance to manufacturer specifications.
• Intermediate understanding of schematics, computer diagnostic software, and welding methods.
• Diesel laptop and welding experience is strongly preferred.
• Safety oriented, maintaining industry and Sunstate safety standards performing equipment repairs.
