Job summary

Sunstate Equipment is seeking a skilled Technician II - Shop to service and repair diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems on heavy rental equipment. You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure equipment meets manufacturer specifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a diesel mechanic, heavy construction equipment or rental equipment preferred.
• Experience with troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs of diesel, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and gas engines.
• Experience with Tier 4 engines and DPF, SCR, and EGR aftertreatment systems preferred.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and equipment repairs.
• Must have the necessary tools to perform the scope of repairs.
• Inspect, service, and test equipment to meet manufacturer specifications.
• Intermediate understanding of schematics, computer diagnostic software, and welding methods.

Position Requirements

• You must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic, with heavy construction equipment or rental equipment strongly preferred.
• Intermediate experience with troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, diesel, and gas engines..
• Experience with Tier 4 engines and DPF, SCR, and EGR aftertreatment systems is preferred.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing equipment repairs.
• Must have the necessary tools you need to perform the scope of equipment repairs.
• Inspect, service, and test equipment, ensuring performance to manufacturer specifications.
• Intermediate understanding of schematics, computer diagnostic software, and welding methods.
• Diesel laptop and welding experience is strongly preferred.
• Safety oriented, maintaining industry and Sunstate safety standards performing equipment repairs.
