Job summary

Qualifications

• 3+ years of maintenance experience in industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read/interpret OEM manuals, drawings, schematics and specs.
• Familiarity with CMMS platforms preferred (Maximo).
• Strong technical writing and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PDF editing.
• Ability to work in industrial environments and follow PPE/Safety rules.
• Willingness to overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts as needed.
• Trade certification or Associate Degree in related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and maintain technical documentation including user manuals and maintenance guides.
• Create and revise documentation within the Maximo CMMS platform.
• Review instructions against OEM manuals and specs for accuracy/compliance.
• Validate labor estimates, task sequences, and steps to reflect field execution.
• Standardize docs to align with OEM procedures and internal standards.
• Produce clear, structured, user-friendly content to improve maintenance efficiency.
• Collaborate with technicians, supervisors, reliability engineers, and cross-functional teams.
• Support document control, configuration management, and data entry in Maximo.
• Document activities and prepare detailed reports.
• Ensure consistency and formatting quality across all content.

We are seeking a Technical Writer I to support maintenance operations by developing, reviewing, and improving technical documentation used in a dynamic industrial environment. • Create and revise documentation within the Maximo CMMS platform.
• Review maintenance instructions against OEM manuals and technical specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance.

What’s Needed?

• Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or similar environment.
• Ability to read and interpret OEM manuals, technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Familiarity with Maximo or other CMMS platforms preferred.
• Strong technical writing and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PDF editing tools.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on documentation accuracy and consistency.
• Ability to work within industrial environments, including climbing ladders and stairs, bending, twisting, and accessing elevated or confined spaces while following PPE and safety requirements.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, alternate shifts, or split shifts as needed.
• Trade certification or Associate Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Maintenance preferred.
• Experience supporting CMMS improvements, upgrades, or PM program standardization preferred.
• Knowledge of Lean Maintenance, Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), or similar methodologies preferred.
