Piper Companies is seeking a Technical Writer & Customer Support Engineer to join a growing client in cloud technology and government compliance in the United States. This fully remote role combines technical writing with customer-facing support and requires a solid understanding of AWS cloud environments, SaaS platforms, and compliance-driven technologies.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of technical writing in software/cloud environments.
• Hands-on knowledge of AWS services and cloud concepts.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, and GitHub for documentation management.
• Experience supporting customers via tickets, chat, or similar channels.
• Experience with FedRAMP or regulated tech preferred.

• Create, maintain, and enhance technical documentation including user guides and knowledge base articles.
• Respond to customer inquiries and support requests via messaging platforms, troubleshooting issues and delivering timely resolutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to translate complex concepts into clear content.

• Document workflows, configurations, and best practices related to AWS environments and compliance requirements.

The Technical Writer & Customer Support Engineer role is fully remote. The Technical Writer & Customer Support Engineer role is ideal for a professional who combines strong technical documentation expertise with customer-facing support experience and a solid understanding of AWS cloud environments, SaaS platforms, and compliance-driven technologies.

Responsibilities of the Technical Writer & Customer Support Engineer include:

• Create, maintain, and enhance technical documentation including user guides, knowledge base articles, implementation documentation, and support resources.
• Respond to customer inquiries and technical support requests through messaging platforms, troubleshooting issues and providing timely resolutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly content.
• Manage and organize documentation repositories using Confluence, GitHub, and Jira while ensuring content accuracy and version control.
• Support cloud-based product offerings by documenting workflows, configurations, and best practices related to AWS environments and compliance requirements.

Requirements of the Technical Writer & Customer Support Engineer include:

• 3+ years of technical writing experience within software, cloud, or technology-driven environments.
• Hands-on knowledge of AWS services and cloud infrastructure concepts.
• Experience utilizing Jira, Confluence, and GitHub for documentation management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Background supporting customers through ticketing systems, chat platforms, or technical messaging channels.
• Experience with cloud offerings, SaaS products, FedRAMP environments, or regulated technology solutions is highly preferred.

Compensation for the Technical Writer & Customer Support Engineer include:

• $120,000 - $150,000 annually
• Full Comprehensive Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, PTO, Paid Holiday and Sick Leave if Required by Law.
