Neosem Technoloy, a leading memory test equipment manufacturer, is seeking a Technical Writer. This individual is responsible for creating and maintaining clear technical documentation for internal and external customers. The Technical Writer will work with or in cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, and technicians to create comprehensive documentation while meeting deliverable schedules.
Scope of Work / Typical Deliverables
Deliverables include documentation for internal and external stakeholders:
- Manufacturing process instructions
- Service documentation (installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting manuals)
- Training materials (slides, quick reference guides)
- User guides and other customer-facing documents
Essential Functions
- Collaborate with the documentation lead and subject matter experts to draft and maintain technical documentation, ensuring alignment with system specifications and requirements from internal and external stakeholders.
- Use established documentation guidelines when editing and proofreading content to meet quality standards for clarity, accuracy, and grammar.
- Apply standard templates and style guides to ensure consistent formatting, terminology, and tone across documents.
- Incorporate approved existing text, visuals, and references to maximize reuse, and maintain consistency.
- Collect and compile technical inputs from subject matter experts using provided tools and processes (e.g., review comments, marked-up drafts).
- Maintain document repositories and revision controls.
- Communicate status of work to management and report any needs for additional information, technical procedures, etc.
- Complete assigned tasks according to established deadlines.
- Accurately track and record time spent on projects.
- Hybrid work schedule (up to 2 days remote per week)
- Occasional work in a development lab
- Occasional attendance in online meetings or training sessions outside of regular work hours to support team members in different time zones
- Periodic schedule flexibility to meet critical schedule deadlines
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- A bachelor's degree English, Communications, Journalism, Engineering, or Technology.
Required:
- A minimum of two to five (2-5) years of experience in mechanical, software, technical, or writing-related field, with experience creating structured technical documents (drafting, organizing, and editing) with internal or external stakeholders.
- Ability to simplify complex concepts and communicate those concepts clearly and concisely.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills for accuracy, clarity, conciseness, and proper grammar.
- Strong research and self-learning skills to study and understand new technologies independently.
- Ability to adhere to predefined document standards, templates, and formatting guidelines.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and validate technical information.
- Ability to revise technical content written by subject matter experts whose first language may not be English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Skills
- Previous technical writing experience
- Photo/Video creation and editing experience
- Previous experience with semiconductor memory automated test equipment (ATE)
- Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira/Confluence)
- Photo/Video editing experience
- Ability to read and understand software particularly C++ and Python
