Job summary

Halo Agencies is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to author, maintain, and standardize SOPs, work instructions, and training materials for laser-based semiconductor tools. You will bridge engineering, NPI, and quality assurance to ensure procedures are clear, scalable, and compliant.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in technical writing for capital equipment, strong documentation skills, and proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and Arena PLM.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of technical writing experience in the capital equipment industry
• Proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and modern AI productivity tools
• Experience developing documentation for complex systems across mechanical, optical, electrical, and software engineering disciplines
• Experience in developing and delivering technical training programs
• Experience using PLM systems (Arena) for formal document control
• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

Responsibilities

• Author, maintain, and standardize SOPs, work instructions, quality records, and training materials
• Bridge knowledge between engineering, NPI, and quality assurance to ensure clear, compliant procedures
• Develop and update assembly, alignment, calibration, and test procedures for laser-based semiconductor tools
• Create illustrated instructions and calibration/test guides from CAD drawings and photos
• Ensure documentation complies with ISO 9001, SEMI, and ANSI Z136 standards
• Collaborate with manufacturing operators and engineers to drive Continuous Improvement in docs

Job description

• As a Technical Writer, you will author, maintain, and standardize a wide range of technical documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), detailed work instructions, Quality records, and comprehensive training materials
• This role bridges the knowledge gap between engineering, New Product Introduction (NPI), and quality assurance to ensure all procedures are clear, scalable, and compliant
• Develop and update assembly, alignment, calibration, and test procedures for laser-based semiconductor tools
• Work closely with engineering, optical, and manufacturing teams to proactively capture accurate process details
• Produce illustrated work instructions and calibration/test guides using CAD drawings and photos
• Create standardized guides, SOPs, and technical onboarding templates for new hires
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, SEMI, and laser safety (ANSI Z136) standards throughout all documentation
• Partner actively with manufacturing operators, engineers, and design engineers to champion Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, ensuring documentation evolves with constructive feedback
