Job summary

Goldman Sachs is seeking a Technical Vice President in the Deal Manufacturing Engineering team within Asset Management Alternatives Engineering. You will own architecture and drive the private‑side deal origination, diligence, and execution platforms, while remaining hands-on and mentoring engineers.

You will lead production-grade applications using Java, TypeScript, and Python, and guide scalable backend services, APIs, and modern UIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5–8 years of software engineering experience with technical leadership on complex systems.
• Hands-on experience with Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, and Python.
• Experience building scalable distributed systems, APIs and microservices.
• Experience developing modern web applications (React, Angular, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and technical direction for large-scale, mission-critical Deal Manufacturing platforms.
• Design and deliver production-grade full-stack applications using Java, TypeScript, and Python.
• Build scalable backend services and APIs, and modern web UIs using React or Angular.
• Apply AI and LLM capabilities to enhance engineering efficiency and business productivity where appropriate.
• Lead complex initiatives end-to-end in an Agile environment, from design through production.
• Partner closely with Product, business stakeholders, and other engineering teams across Alternatives.
• Mentor engineers, lead code and design reviews, and reinforce GS engineering standards.
• Champion operational excellence, including CI/CD, testing, and platform reliability.
