Job summary

Goldman Sachs is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design, build, and operate high-availability, AI-driven, cloud-native services across multi-region environments. You will work with Java 17+, govern AI coding agents, and collaborate with global teams to modernize trading desk workflows.

You will contribute to event-driven pipelines, ensure robust testing, and maintain production-grade code quality while leveraging AI tooling to accelerate delivery.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software development experience in Java (Java 17+ preferred).
• Demonstrated experience with AI-assisted engineering tools, and ability to govern AI agents and assess outputs.
• Experience building event-driven and distributed systems with messaging platforms like Apache Kafka.
• Strong SDLC practices: version control, CI/CD, automated build/test/deploy, and code quality tooling.
• Solid testing discipline: unit, integration, and acceptance testing.
• Ability to navigate large and unfamiliar codebases, with or without AI assistance.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate high-availability, multi-region, cloud-native services.
• Develop event-driven architectures and optimized data paths for trade lifecycle management.
• Partner with engineers and domain experts to modernize business processes in a cloud-centric, AI-driven environment.
• Manage the full lifecycle of software components from requirements to release using Agile practices.
• Innovate with AI-centric tooling to produce production-quality code and accelerate delivery.
• Multiply impact by orchestrating AI coding agents across the SDLC.
