Job summary

Veeco is seeking a Technical Instructor to design, develop, and deliver technical training for customers and internal personnel. You will create hands-on, remote, and computer-based content that ensures safe, accurate, and consistent procedures for released systems.

You will work with subject matter experts to define objectives, build LMS-ready courses, and train Field Service Engineers, customer operators, and maintenance staff, focusing on safety, task accuracy, and practical troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or engineering technology with 5 years in technical support or field service preferred.
• Experience in sustaining or providing technical support in semiconductor or technical manufacturing strongly preferred.
• Travel about 25% to deliver customer training and skill building through manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and schedule training deliveries for internal and customer students.
• Deliver instructor-led training in both in-person and remote environments.
• Develop training materials for customer training and internal employee programs.
• Train personnel to perform released procedures safely, accurately, and consistently.
• Use a Learning Management System to deliver courses, schedule sessions, record attendance, and track completion.
• Deliver in-person training to customer personnel and internal Field Service personnel.
• Deliver remote training using documentation, drawings, models, simulators, and other technical materials.
• Verify learners can correctly perform published procedures safely and to quality standards.
• Collaborate with SMEs to define learning objectives and outcomes.
• Create training packages based on approved objectives and required outcomes.
• Develop system training packages covering overview, subsystems, operations, and software.
• Convert training materials into computer-based modules and upload to LMS.
• Assist technical writers by reviewing procedures for accuracy and clarity.
