Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Technical Trainer in the Design Engineering department to lead end-to-end training initiatives for internal staff and external clients. The role involves delivering sessions, setting objectives, and guiding instructional designers and learning scientists to ensure technical accuracy and practical relevance.

The position may be based out of multiple engineering offices, including Lake Mary, FL; Raleigh, NC; Birmingham, AL; or Reno, NV, with travel up to 25% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on training initiatives—set scope, metrics, and milestones; align with safety, quality, and operational goals.
• Collaborate with design engineering SMEs and instructional developers to translate workflows into learning objectives, review storyboards and modules for accuracy.
• Act as the technical SME for substation design topics (protection & control, layout, QA/QC).
• Administer QualU’s Engineering Boot Camp trainings (Protection & Control, Physical substation, Settings, Transmission line, Distribution).
• Consult with stakeholders to identify gaps, prioritize curricula, and define career progression pathways.
• Assist with change-management oriented training for new tools/processes and plan adoption strategies.
• Use data analytics to evaluate impact and recommend enhancements.
• Facilitate delivery of internal and client training seminars; coach mentors; support train-the-trainer.
• Coordinate logistics with Training Ops to ensure smooth sessions.
• Serve as client-facing representative for scoping, SOW inputs, and status updates.
• Champion and embed human performance principles throughout programs.
