Job summary

Ulteig seeks a Substation Training and Quality Engineer to lead the substation training program and improve quality processes. You will develop curricula, perform QC, mentor project teams, and work with leadership on training needs and process improvements. The role balances billable QC work with training initiatives.

The ideal candidate has a PE license, 7+ years in substation design, and a passion for growing others while leveraging new technologies to enhance workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering required.
• 7+ years of substation structural design experience.
• PE License is required.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• Willingness to embrace evolving technology, including AI tools, to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Provide QC, quality audits, and project mentoring on substation projects.
• Submit Quality Reports as part of QC.
• Review Quality Escapes and identify root causes for quality errors.
• Develop and refine Substation-specific quality processes, checklists, tools, and guidance.
• Coordinate and schedule training initiatives and lunch-and-learn events.
• Engage with clients on technical training opportunities and industry trends.
• Allocate approximately 60% to billable QC/quality work and 40% to training/quality initiatives.
