Job summary

WestRock is seeking a Technical Trainer to lead floor-based training and certify operators/crafts. The role reports to the site General Manager and dotted lines to Operations Learning & Development, ensuring readiness through assessments and feedback.

You will develop training materials, conduct on-the-job training, and participate in hiring assessments for industrial skills. The position requires flexibility across shifts and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years’ experience conducting/leading training in manufacturing.
• 2–4 years’ experience in manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Learning Management Systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes daily technical training on the floor to certify team members.
• Supports New Hire Orientation/On Boarding training as needed.
• Tracks and evaluates training locally using the Dept. Training data.
• Develops and maintains technical learning aids and SOPs for training.
• Assists with hiring process by assessing candidates’ machine skills and experience.
• Conducts training on all shifts and promotes safety-mindedness.
• Supports certification processes with Ops L&D and training tools.
