Job summary

WestRock Company is seeking a Technical Trainer to support on-floor technical training and certification for operators and crafts in a manufacturing setting. You will partner with Operations Learning & Development to ensure timely certification, conduct assessments, and contribute to the hiring process with a focus on industrial experience.

The role requires periodic training across all shifts, a hands-on approach, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years’ experience conducting/leading training in a manufacturing environment.
• 2–4 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Knowledge of Learning Management Systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes daily technical training on the floor to assist with certification of team members.
• Partners with OPS L&D leader to support New Hire Orientation/Onboarding Training.
• Tracks, evaluates and measures training locally using the Dept. Training.
• Supports site-specific technical learning solution creation (SOPs, Guided Workflows, Technical Learning Aids).
• Develops and maintains relationships with trainees and leaders.
• Participates in new teammate hiring process and assesses candidates’ skills.
• Conducts training on all shifts and promotes safety-mindedness.
• Supports certification processes with Train the Trainer, aided by Ops L&D.
