Job summary

Jobtailor in Fredericksburg, VA seeks a Technical Trainer to deliver training programs across our repair network and coach technicians to perform repairs safely and correctly. You will ensure WOW plan adherence, maintain training documentation, and supervise expense practices.

Travel to repair centers and work with managers to identify classes, assess capabilities, and drive QC compliance. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years industry experience
  • 2+ years experience delivering training preferred
  • Post-secondary education preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Industry certifications
  • Ongoing professional education required
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Independent planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to motivate and cooperate with all staff
  • Proficiency in MS Office/Google Suite/Internet apps

Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical training programs and courses in the assigned area
  • Coach repair center staff, especially technicians, to ensure vehicles are repaired properly and safely
  • Ensure consistent execution of the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan
  • Complete and retain all training documentation
  • Follow company expense-control and expense-documentation policies
  • Maintain company assets, including trainer’s tools
  • Visit repair centers to assess technicians’ technical capabilities, knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Coach technicians on applying technical skills and building repair-process efficiencies
  • Work with technicians, repair center general managers and market leaders to recommend classes
  • Monitor and coach for full compliance with QC processes
  • Assess repair center tools and equipment and provide documented feedback when upgrades or repairs are needed
  • Assist in developing technician trainees at fixed training centers and/or through direct trainee support
  • Develop and improve technical training clinics
  • Coordinate with other technical trainers to ensure consistent training messages across the repair network
  • Keep current on advancements in repair processes and techniques
  • Perform program assessments, training and coaching
  • Work with regional and market leadership to identify issues that may improve technical capabilities within markets

Requirements
  • At least 5-7 years experience industry experience
  • At least 2 years experience delivering training is preferred
  • Completed course of studies at a post-secondary school preferred
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Applicable industry certifications
  • Attends required continuing professional education
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of independently planning and organizing work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate, motivate and cooperate with all levels of staff
  • Knowledge of computer applications, including Internet, Google platform, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the company’s auto liability insurance policies
  • Must be able to travel up to 30%-70% including some overnight travel
