YMCA of Greater Brandywine is seeking aTechnical Theater Instructor to plan, organize, and deliver value-driven skill development for participants aged 10–18. You will lead classes in set, lighting, sound, costumes, makeup, and stage crew, guiding students in production skills and supporting Mainstage shows.

The role emphasizes safe, organized supervision, enthusiastic leadership, and effective communication with families.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age with high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 5 years of advanced experience in specialized skill.
• Minimum of 4 years teaching specialized skill.
• Training and qualifications in the specialized instruction area.
• Demonstrate advance knowledge of specialized skill.
• Ability to effectively use technology for programmatic needs.
• Obtain and maintain all new hires certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to plan, lead, and participate in classes and activities.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes and leads specific activities, routines and/or games for all participants.
• Leads with enthusiasm and positive motivation in program.
• Organizes and maintains program records including attendance records, rosters, etc.
• Manages all equipment.
• Maintains a clean and risk-free environment.
• Communicates effectively and timely with program participants and parents.
• Ensures all children are picked up by a parent.
• Promotes other YMCA programs by handing out brochures, answering questions, or referral to appropriate person.
• Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
