Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine invites applicants to join its team as a program facilitator. Plan, organize and lead age-appropriate activities and games while delivering value-driven instruction aligned with YMCA goals.

You will maintain attendance, rosters, and equipment, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for children and families. We seek individuals with 5+ years in a specialized skill area and 4+ years teaching that skill, plus the ability to use technology for program needs and to

Qualifications

  • 18 years of age with high school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 5 years of advanced experience in specialized skill.
  • Minimum of 4 years teaching specialized skill.
  • Training and qualifications in the specialized instruction area.
  • Demonstrate advance knowledge of specialized skill.
  • Ability to effectively use technology for programmatic needs.
  • Obtain and maintain all new hires certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes and leads activities, routines and games for participants.
  • Leads with enthusiasm and positive motivation in program.
  • Maintains program records (attendance, rosters, etc.).
  • Manages all equipment.
  • Keeps a clean, risk-free environment.
  • Communicates effectively with participants and parents.
  • Ensures all children are picked up by a parent.
  • Promotes YMCA programs by sharing brochures or referrals.

What You’ll Do
  • Plans, organizes and leads specific activities, routines and/or games for all participants.

  • Organizes and maintains program records including, but not limited to: attendance records, rosters, etc.
  • Manages all equipment.
  • Maintains a clean and risk-free environment.
  • Communicates effectively and timely with program participants and parents.
  • Ensures all children are picked up by a parent.
  • Promotes other YMCA programs by handing out brochures, answering questions, or referral to appropriate person.
  • Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
