Job summary

Extension, Inc is seeking a Business Development Representative to join our client in Sheboygan, WI. This role focuses on consultative, technical sales of custom-engineered metal components, coordinating with Engineering, Manufacturing and Operations to grow national accounts.

The position requires 5–7 years in sales/BD/engineering, a technical background, and the ability to manage 9–18 month sales cycles. Travel up to 25% is expected, with base salary in the $80k–$85k range plus uncapped

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of sales, business development, or engineering experience.
• Technical manufacturing or engineering background preferred.
• Experience with metal stamping, metal forming, engineered components, or custom manufacturing strongly preferred.
• Strong relationship-building, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing complex sales cycles and developing new business.
• Willingness to travel approximately 15–25%.

Responsibilities

• Develop new business through prospecting, cold calling, networking, and customer visits.
• Grow and manage existing customer relationships.
• Identify customer needs and develop custom-engineered solutions.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain on new opportunities.
• Manage complex 9–18 month sales cycles and maintain an accurate pipeline.
• Lead opportunities through the sales and new product introduction process.
• Travel domestically for customer meetings and business development.
