Job summary

Emerson Electric Corporation in Austin, TX is seeking a Sales Development Engineer to develop careers in technical sales, applications engineering, and technical marketing. You will receive extensive training on T&M tools and our sales process, and you will learn from industry experts while helping customers solve complex engineering problems.

You will spend 6 months learning and then work with an Account Manager to support demos, training, and configurations, while balancing inbound demand,

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering, CS, Physics, Mechanical, or Biomedical Eng.
• Interest in long-term technical sales, marketing, or applications engineering
• Understanding of electronics, computers, and programming basics

Responsibilities

• Spend first 6 months in rapid learning, gaining expertise with T&M tools and our sales process while supporting customers and their technical challenges.
• After 6 months, partner with an Account Manager to support customer sales requests, provide demos, training, and configurations.
• Balance inbound sales demand, marketing leads, customer presentations and demos, and prospecting to generate new demand and pipeline.
• Develop test and measurement expertise to equip you for your future career.
• Qualify demand and call out opportunities to Account Managers to drive growth.
• Provide coaching and mentorship within the team.
• Collaborate with departments including sales, marketing, support, operations, and business units.
• Travel to customer sites to conduct training courses, lunch and learns, and product presentations.
• Create a business plan to drive success in your territory.
