Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Sales Development Engineer in Austin to launch a career in technical sales, applications engineering, and marketing. You will receive extensive training on T&M products, our sales process, and public speaking, while solving complex customer challenges with cross-functional teams.

You will relocate to Austin for at least 2 years, travel moderately, and develop expertise that advances you toward a sales-driven engineering career within Emerson’s global organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mechanical, or Biomedical Engineering.
• Desire to pursue a long-term career in technical sales, marketing, or applications engineering.
• Understanding of electronics, computers, and high-level programming languages (C, Python, LabVIEW, etc).
• Ability to relocate to Austin, TX for minimum of 2 years.
• Available for moderate travel.
• English language competency and effective communication skill.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Spend your first 6 months in rapid learning, gaining expertise with T&M tools and our sales process while supporting T&M customers and their technical challenges.
• After 6 months, you will partner with an Account Manager to support customer sales requests, provide demos, training, and customer configurations.
• Balance your time between inbound sales demand, marketing generated leads, customer presentations and demos, and your prospecting activities to generate new demand and pipeline.
• Develop test and measurement expertise to equip you for your future career.
• Qualify demand and call out opportunities to Account Managers to drive growth.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to others within the team.
• Work collaboratively with many departments, including sales, marketing, technical support, operations, and business units.
• Travel to customer sites to conduct training courses, lunch and learns, and product presentations.
