Job summary

WorkGenius Group in New York, NY is seeking a Technical Designer to translate design sketches into precise tech packs, ensure consistent fit and construction, and support production from development through TOPs. The role requires 2-4 years of Technical Design experience in the designer or contemporary apparel market, with a strong background in wovens.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college.
2-4 years of Technical Design experience in the designer or contemporary apparel market, with a strong background in wovens.
Excellent understanding of fit, garment quality, brand aesthetics, and construction standards.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain tech packs, including specifications, construction details, fit comments, and bills of materials throughout the fit cycle.
Translate design sketches and samples into accurate specification and construction pages while maintaining consistent fit and construction standards.
Prepare samples and lead live-model fit sessions with Design, Production, and Merchandising; communicate corrective actions through written comments, sketches, photos, and patternmaking.
Launch approved samples to overseas factories, provide grading guidelines, review factory grade-rule changes, and resolve fit and production issues from sample development through in-line production and TOPs.
Partner with cross-functional teams and overseas vendors to maintain the T&A calendar and deliver timely technical solutions through email and video calls.
