BILA77 is seeking a Technical Designer to translate design concepts into production-ready tech packs and manage fittings for soft wovens, knits, and cut & sew.

The role emphasizes end-to-end sampling, collaboration with design and factories, and strict attention to detail to ensure accurate measurements and timely approvals.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end sampling from proto to TOP and communicate fit corrections.
• Send production approvals to clients.
• Measure samples, evaluate fit and construction, and prepare for fittings.
• Conduct fit sessions and document comments and approvals.
• Develop specs on new styles and adjust existing specs for pattern changes.
• Create new tech packs and sample requests in WFX; track and log samples.
• Monitor fit, construction, and quality across factories.
• Communicate with overseas factories on construction and measurement corrections.
• Partner with design, production, and factories to hit seasonal milestones.
• Organize and prioritize assignments daily in line with the design calendar.

Job description

The Technical Designer oversees technical design and production managing fittings, creating and modifying specs, evaluating garment construction, and collaborating closely with the design team. This role requires sharp attention to detail, a deep understanding of technical design processes, and a strong ability to translate creative concepts into garments. Product focus is on soft wovens, cut & sew and fully fashioned knits.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-end sampling process Proto through TOP tracking approvals and communicating fit corrections
• Communicate and send production approvals to clients
• Measure samples, evaluate fit and construction, and prepare for fittings
• Conduct fit sessions and document comments and approvals
• Develop specs on new styles; adapt existing specs for styles requiring design changes or pattern adjustments
• Create new tech packs and sample requests in WFX; track and log incoming samples
• Monitor and maintain fit, construction, and quality standards across all factories
• Communicate directly with overseas factories on construction and measurement corrections
• Partner with design, production, and factories to hit seasonal calendar milestones
• Organize and prioritize assignments daily in alignment with the design calendar

Qualifications

• Proficiency in technical design, including creating detailed tech packs and ensuring accuracy in measurements and specifications
• Strong fitting skills with the ability to identify and resolve fit issues
• Ability to translate design concepts into production-ready tech packs
• Proficiency in PLM (WFX preferred), Adobe Illustrator, and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Self-motivated, analytical, detail-oriented, and highly organized
• Ability to manage workload and perform under tight deadlines
• Collaborative team player who can meet project deadlines effectively
