Job summary

Boyd Company is offering an entry-level Student Technician Apprentice program designed to develop technical skills through a structured curriculum, online training, and on-the-job experiences. The program rotates between the Louisville Training Center and hosting Boyd locations, culminating in an Apprentice Technician role.

Compensation is up to $24.00 per hour, with a clear path to Shop Technician I or Field Technician status as part of Boyd’s Technician Career Development Path.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
• Must be able to pass drug screen and background check.
• Willingness to learn and be trained.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to communicate with team members and customers.
• Good working knowledge of computers, spreadsheets, word processing programs.
• Highly self-directed.
• Must be dependable and arrive on time as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Learn to read and interpret technical instruction, service and safety manuals, company policies and procedures.
• Work with mechanical, hydraulic, and electric/electronic schematics and wiring diagrams and demonstrate proficiency in the use of test equipment.
• Responsible for maintaining high academic standards and morals.
• Review and send reports in a timely manner, ensuring value for work performed.
• Respond to customer requests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Keep manager informed to assist in answering customer questions.
